Breastfeeding

Problem:

Aziza was brought to Atlantic Chiropractic because she was having problems latching on to nurse. As a result, she was undernourished and losing weight.

Treatment:

A chiropractic exam revealed that Aziza’s jaw and upper neck had become misaligned, most likely during the birth process. This greatly decreased her ability to protrude her tongue and to tilt her head, all necessary activities for nursing. Gentle adjustments were performed to correct the alignment.

Outcome:

This is a condition that chiropractic commonly treats. Within four appointments, Aziza’s misalignment was resolved and she was able to nurse successfully.
